GGF Staff Calendar

GGF Calendar January 2008

How to Calculate your vacation time

  1. For first year staff: You get 1.45 hours of vacation per pay period.
  2. Staff in years 2-5: You get 2.917 hours per pay period
  3. Staff in years 6 and beyond: You get 4.375 hours per pay period
So here is a computational method to calculate exactly how much vacation you have to date:
  1. Count the number of pay periods from your start or anniversary date
  2. Multiply by accumulation rate (1.45, 2.917 or 4.375) to get NUMBER OF VACATION HOURS ACCRUED.
  3. Multiply the number of vacation days you have already taken by 7.583 giving you the result of NUMBER OF VACATION HOURS TAKEN.
  4. Subtract NUMBER OF VACATION HOURS TAKEN from NUMBER OF VACATION HOURS ACCRUED in order to get the result of NUMBER OF VACATION HOURS REMAINING.
  5. Convert to days by dividing by 7.583

There is an easier method:

First year staff: 3 hours of vacation a month. It takes 2 1/2 months to earn 1 day of vacation.

Years 2-5: 6 hours per month. It takes 1 1/2 months to earn a little more than 1 day of vacation

Years 6 +: It takes a month to earn a little more than 1 day of vacation.

Start figuring from your start date or anniversary date of going on staff. If you are not sure what that date is see Director's Office.
